Redwood Falls Mattress Cleanup Day

At Sweetman Sanitation, we know that getting rid of an old mattress isn’t as simple as setting it out with your weekly garbage. They’re bulky, heavy, and not something you can easily tuck into a cart. That’s why we’re excited to host Redwood Falls Mattress Cleanup Day on October 17, 2025. We are giving our neighbors a simple, affordable, and eco-friendly way to say goodbye to those worn-out mattresses.

Why a Mattress Cleanup Day?

Mattresses are one of the toughest household items to dispose of properly. Left unchecked, they take up massive amounts of landfill space. But with our community-focused approach, Sweetman Sanitation is turning what used to be a disposal headache into an opportunity to recycle and repurpose.

By scrapping metal, grinding fabric, and breaking down usable parts, we’re able to keep mattresses out of the landfill and put those materials back to work. During our spring event in Redwood County, more than 100 mattresses were collected, saving residents money while protecting the environment.

The Local Benefit

Thanks to our partnerships, we’ve been able to cut disposal costs from $50 down to just $10 per mattress for this event. That means more families can clear out old mattresses without breaking the bank, while also knowing they’re doing right by their community. It’s proof that when we all pitch in, small efforts add up to big results.
