Summer in Southwest Minnesota never really eases in.
One minute we’re wrapping up spring cleanups, and the next we’re loading parade candy, dropping dumpsters, servicing events, and trying to remember which town celebration is happening this weekend.
And honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.
At Sweetman Sanitation, summer is one of our busiest seasons. It is also one of our favorites because it gives us a chance to do what we love most: show up for the communities that show up for us all year long.
We’re a family-owned business, and around here, that means more than picking up garbage. It means being part of the parade lineup, helping keep fairgrounds and parks clean, supporting local celebrations, and making sure community events have what they need behind the scenes.
Sometimes you’ll see us waving from a truck in the parade. Other times, we’re the crew behind the dumpsters, roll-offs, and waste services that help keep things running smoothly.
Either way, we’re proud to be part of it.

More Than Just Garbage Service
A lot of people see us during parades, but there is plenty happening before and after the candy gets tossed.
Throughout the summer, our crew helps with dumpsters, roll-offs, event waste service, and cleanup support for fairs, festivals, parks, and community spaces. It is not always the glamorous part of summer events, but it is a pretty important one.
And lucky for everyone, garbage is kind of our thing.
Whether we’re driving through a parade, servicing a community event, sponsoring a local celebration, or showing up with our own families, we’re grateful to be part of these hometown traditions.
