At Sweetman Sanitation, our job may be hauling waste—but our mission goes far beyond that. We’re dedicated to keeping our communities clean, connected, and thriving. That’s why we were proud to lend our support to the second annual Downtown Clean Up Days, hosted by Discover Downtown Redwood Falls from April 24–26, 2025.
A Growing Tradition of Community Pride
Downtown Clean Up Days, held each spring around Earth Day, is quickly becoming a tradition that brings out the best in our community. Volunteers, business owners, and residents rolled up their sleeves for three days of sprucing up alleyways, clearing out clutter, and refreshing the heart of our city.
As part of the effort, Sweetman Sanitation donated five 30-yard roll-off dumpsters to downtown businesses. This helped them dispose of large, bulky items that can often be costly or difficult to remove. It’s just one way we strive to be a helping hand for our neighbors.
Who Made It Happen?
The success of this effort didn’t happen alone. Chad Kamolz stepped in to assist with scrap metal removal, ensuring reusable materials were salvaged. The City of Redwood Falls pitched in by hauling oversized items from public spaces and alleys. And, of course, dozens of community members showed up with gloves on and garbage bags in hand—proving once again that when we come together, we can accomplish great things.

This annual cleanup is part of a broader vision led by Discover Downtown Redwood Falls, an organization focused on revitalizing the historic core of our city. Their mission includes:

By creating a network of businesses, maintaining downtown's physical appeal, and supporting both its history and future, Discover Downtown is turning the Redwood Falls city center into a true hub of community and commerce.
